Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I have done some odd jobs related to organic agriculture, namely volunteering at an urban farm in Richmond and helping with the construction of a self-sufficient mud house and garden system in Guanajuato. I am absolutely the first to acknowledge, though, that I am a complete rookie in this area. There is so so much out there to learn about the earth and our interactions with it, and I can’t wait to soak that all up.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?

What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am a very hard worker, and I learn quickly and with enthusiasm. The work that I find most fulfilling is the kind that leaves me completely exhausted and covered in dirt, sawdust, paint, clay, whatever. I am an art student and especially love painting, printmaking, and ceramics, and I see those disciplines as being fundamentally related to work in organic agriculture; all of them are based on considerate, purposeful interaction with raw materials to grow something new and alive. I think that being able to care for, draw from, and just generally respectfully interact with our natural surroundings is maybe the most fundamental skill, and I am really looking forward to exploring that in the coming years. Other than that: I know Spanish, love dogs, am vegetarian, love meeting new people, and am excited to learn from WWOOF Mexico!

Hi Ella,

We have space for you and lots of dirty-dirt work outside! If you´re in San Cristóbal, come see me today in La Casa del Pan, Real de Guadalupe 55, between 12:00 and 4:00, if that´s convenient.

How´s your Spanish?

Saludos, kippy

Hi Ella,

Good to hear from you. Monday in La Casa del Pan will be fine for me. i am usually there between 11:00 and 5:00, if that´s good for you. Let me know when you plan to arrive. You can stay in the minimalist volunteer dorm in the back of La Casa del Pan, where you can have a clean bed and a hot shower. We will feed you the best vegetarian food in the world, locally produced and prepared by La Casa del Pan, a real luxury.

The work will be hard, making new beds in a new garden, making compost, repairing old greenhouses, etc. You´ll love it.
