What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I grew up on an organic farm my entire life. We farm organic cash crops and organic beef. We believe in a sustainable farming philosophy that replenishes our soil and enhances the lives of our cattle. I have learnt a lot living on the far. I study International Development with a major in Rural and Agricultural Development at Guelph University in Canada. Within my program I have taken many courses focused on sustainable development, however I am particularly interested in sustainable agricultural development. I am really excited to get some practical experience and learn about the agriculture here in Mexico!
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am currently studying in Cuernavaca, Mexico and will finish my semester the 14th of May. I would love to work with some local Mexican farmers and experience farming here in Mexico. I am a hard working energetic person and am really interested in learning about the Mexican culture through hands on experience!
Hi Laura
We have a smal eco hotel www.casablatha.com and a property in a small mayan village www.ecopueblitomaya.com. We are developing organic orchards on both places. The hotel is located in holbox a small island in the caribbean very much preserved and where we want guest to discover the beauty of harvesting their own food. In the small village we are helping them adopting organic practices and creating a small comunity supported agriculture scheme. Let me know if you are interested?
