To answer the questions in detail:

My name is David, I am 35 years old, originally Hungarian. Now I live in México D.F. where I am happily married. However, I find city life quite demanding and I am planing on leaving it. In the long term, I envision living on a piece of land where I can practice organic forestry, growing trees for food, construction material, fuel, but mostly for the creation and maintenance of a healthy ecosystem. In the short term, I would like to get to know and work with people of similar interests, establish lasting relationships and continuous cooperation, even once I've left the farm.

I have been interested in all aspects of sustainability for the last number of years. After reading various books on the subject I took a PDC course in 2008 with Scott Pittman in the US, and spent the next two years WWOOFing on different sites in the US, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and New Zealand. These sites included small households, family farms, eco-villages, and community projects.

In 2010 I returned to Hungary, where I got involved with similarly minded people, organizing information exchanges, intro weekends to Permaculture, and small workshops. I also spent time volunteering in the village of Gagybátor, where I coordinated the volunteer program, among other things.

Since I moved to Mexico in 2012, I have been active in vermicomposting, rooftop gardening, and making probiotic drinks which I sell at an organic market. Most recently I participated in an Earthship academy session in the fall of 2014.

My area of interest includes everything from gardening to animals, energy to construction. Though this time I would be especially interested in working with trees, whether in an orchard or forest: planting, training, pruning, grafting, cutting, processing, etc. It would be also great to learn about the practice of using fungi and animals in connection with trees. Working on a reforestation project that is just starting out, or in a well established food-forest sound equally appealing to me.

Of course this doesn't mean I am not willing to do anything that needs to be done. I am generally flexible, mostly at a cheerful disposition, and happy to get to know my hosts and fellow wwoofers. I don't smoke, and I eat pretty much everything, no dietary restrictions, though I don't mind adopting a vegetarian / vegan diet for a time. I also have a tent, and consider myself self reliant, though I prefer social contacts. I speak English, Spanish, German, and Hungarian. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Looking forward to working with you,
