What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I grew up on a small homestead in rural Oregon, where we grew much of our own food, and raised chickens and goats. I have also spent several years cultivating my farming & gardening knowledge - including WWOOFing in New Zealand and California, working in community gardens, and taking classes on integrated pest management, permaculture design, and organic growing practices. For the past two years, I have managed organic gardens for a local school district near San Francisco. I oversee the maintenance and development of four school gardens, and work directly with under-served K-8 youth in gardening, nutrition, and cooking classes. .
