What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I completed a 3 month long internship on a Community Supported Agriculture organic farm in 2011. I have maintained an organic garden for about 1 year. Currently, I work at a student-run organization at my university called the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology. The house serves as an experimental and demonstration center for sustainable living. Through the organization, I have gained experience in natural building (cob structures, straw-slip structures, etc.), organic gardening, and community development.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
My experiences in life and in organic gardening have shaped me into a conscious, kind, motivated, and passionate individual. I find small communities who work together towards a common goal an attractive aspect of humanity. Sustainability and living lightly on the planet are a few of my life goals. Through learning to live in such a way, I have learned valuable lessons about myself and about the world as a whole. I love animals and I love spending time outside with plants and people.
