What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
1) Three and a half months in Ecuador - 6 weeks interning with an NGO (La Asamblea Cantonal de Cotacachi), learning about their Food Sovereignty project that helped area bean farmers be more sustainable and effective and commercialize their products in Ecuador, especially to local schools. 2) One week on a permaculture ranch on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Tasks included helping construct straw bale building, cleaning up the garden, helping some with animals (goat, chickens, dogs). 3) Have recently become involved in local foods efforts, and the community and student gardens at and near my college.

What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am relatively new to organic farming/permaculture/sustainable living, but an super enthusiastic to learn more. I am also excited for the opportunity to travel in Mexico and Central America, as I have never been to any of these countries. I studied Latin America, Spanish, and sociology in college and studied abroad in Ecuador for a semester, and thus have some basic knowledge/experience in the broader region we call Latin America. However, I am quite eager to learn more!
