Hi Nicholas,
Thanks for writing and being interested. We currently have openings for the time you are thinking of coming, and have a two week minimim commitment, with a three month maximum depending on desired responsiblity level.

Please email me at divertigranja@yahoo.com.mx to discuss the particulars. Thanks,

Emily Melander
P.S. We aren't planning the fungi phase until next year, but you could help us do some of the design work for the oyster mushroom shed. We plan on applying for a federal grant for this project to commence next spring 2010.

Hi Nicholas,
Thank you for your interest in our organic farming and tropical forest conservation project in Cosolapa, Oaxaca. In order for us to respond adequately, we need to hear from you about your travel plans, especially the date you would like to arrive and the length of time you would like to participate. That way we can do a better job coordinating. If too many people were to arrive all at once, we'd run out of accommodation space! So, please write again and let us know the details of your plans.
Thank you!

PS: These numbers are in the United States, as I currently live here on my farm in Carrollton, Georgia, hoping to get back to Cosolapa soon!

Nicolas, thanks for writing! I'm fascinated with the idea of growing edible fungi here; thought about it years ago, but never followed through; do you have any ideas about what may work here? Perhaps in caves (this is a karst terrain)?

Normally I only accept people who work with the dogs, and for a minimum of two months. Maybe you could come for a shorter time if you just focus on the mushrooms....Lots of people are interested in that time of year. Tell me more about viablilty of starting a small project...thanks!

I noticed that you were on the Divertigranja in Etla, Oaxaca, and I wanted to hear what your experience was working there and would you encourage others to go. What kind of work did you do? What did you learn? Did you feel anything was missing from the experience? You can email me at justin.cook@coloradocollege.edu. I would love to hear about your time there. Thank you.
