Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I am a second stage student in Environmental and Social Sciences. I set up a gardening and foraging society at Uni in the aim of bringing the students and local community together as well as taking the time to connect with nature. We are currently setting up a food coop at uni allowing students to access organic, fresh, affordable, local veg every week. I also volunteered in a permaculture farm for a month last summer in the South of France. I am very interested in the different alternatives we have to intensive farming. I think that food security is a major issue we need to tackle and we cannot face it without learning more about sustainable development and Organic Agriculture.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am a second year student in Environmental and Social Sciences. I have to write my dissertation next year and I am coming to Mexico in order to collect data for this work. The subject is: What are the alternatives to intensive farming to ensure food security in the context of climate change, case study on Mexico. I am very excited to learn more about organic farming in Mexico. Moreover, I love meeting new people especially when you can connect with them through things that are very important for you such as environmental issues, what path our society is taking and what are we doing about it!
