What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
Greetings! I'm a student at a small Quaker school studying Peace and Global Studies. The more I have traveled the more my perspective on traveling has evolved. Although traveling can be a thrilling experience and a great way to learn about one's self, I have come to feel that traveling with only this prerogative is rather solipsistic. Now, when I travel I want to know that my presence in a new place does not just serve me, but serves others and doesn't fall into the trap of the voluntourism white savior complex! Socially responsible travel is possible and I believe that many of the hosts on workaway are doing just that! I'm particularly interested in projects that incorporate mindfulness, art, and cooking; all of which I love. I'm interested in ceramics and water colors although I would love to learn about other artistic avenues. As for mindfulness I would like to eventually pursue a certificate to teach mindfulness to children by exposing them to new ways of engaging with art, nature, food, and listening. I'm an avid reader, folk music listener, and hiker. I look forward to meeting wonderful workaway hosts and collaborating in our interests!
