Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I grew up on a farm where we grew sugar cane, blueberries, corn, and many other vegetables. We also kept honeybees, goats, cows, ducks, horses, and chickens. From the years of growing up on a farm, I do have some experience with organic farming, but the majority of my knowledge comes from my time in the Peace Corps. I went to Mali (West Africa) as an environment/agriculture volunteer, and I learned SO much about organic farming - composting, organic pesticide & fertilizer, and other valuable techniques for having an organic garden/farm. Since returning from the Peace Corps, I have WWOOFed on 2 organic farms in the United States. I have gained a lot more knowledge about organic farming at these farms, and I am excited to learn more!
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I love working with the land and different types of agriculture. I also love traveling, learning other languages, and meeting new people. Since WWOOFing combines two of the things that I love, I truly enjoy the experiences and work.
