Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I helped out for a week on a farm in Palenque 3 years ago and have lived in remote agricultural villages in Guatemala and Peru years back for brief periods of time. But none the less, learned different forms of sustainable and ecotoursim development as well as cultural and ecological. I have also helped friends with end season work on their tomato farm on the San Juan Islands, I have alot of experience in apple pressing and fermenting and canning various substances, I have helped a bit with planting, cover cropping, deer fencing, mulching, some caretaking and odd jobs in between on a farm in Montana and Santa Cruz, California. There is constantly more to be learned, something I have open arms for and am ready and willing to gather new skills in new enviroments constantemente. La escuela nunca termina en la vida.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I have been working for an environmental education non profit for the last 2 years teaching and learning in remote areas in South America, Costa Rica, Montana and soon baja Mexico. I have been teaching intensive field science ecology courses to high school students visiting and locally. This work is seasonal so I move around a lot and enjoy living the life in the moment and learning new skills when I can. I have an open minded positive attitude to light my way. I feel sustained off good vibes, positive energy and learning from new people that enter my life's travels. I am a very easy going person who completely enjoys meeting people with an open heart who come from different walks of life as well. I want to continue exploring more unique places around this world and learn, share and experience from other cultures, people and environments. I am at a point in my life where I do move with the wind but am ready to find a deeper connection to the soil and how it works and feel a bit more rooted. I am ready to learn and listen to the earth and learn sustainable practices and permaculture skills, as I want to intertwine it within my everyday life. I have a lot of energy and love for what I believe in, pride in the culture I come from and I enjoy being active, present, and spontaneously readily available for the next exciting learning, teaching, experience, adventure that comes into my life. I come with open arms with a strong desire to learn, willingness to work hard, a positive attitude. I am a free spirit who lives off the simple joys, such as good music, good people/community, and a constant connection with mama tierra, pachamama. I want to find more growth in learning more with my hand through permaculture and building. Soy salvadorena, hablo espanol, hablo ingles, estoy lista con brazos abierts para aprender mas de la pachamama!

Hi Ana, I just received confirmation that our missing over due helper is indeed in route from La Paz.  However,I have a friend with a ranch in Costa Azul that needs help of all sorts.  She is an amazing person with lots of big ideas for her 300 acre ranch.  If this interests you, please send your email contact information to whittsendrancho@gmail.com and I will be happy to forward it to Wendy.

Warm regards, Lisa
