Hi Roberto Lepe,
I am inquiring about the possibility of your farm hosting myself for about 7 – 14 days in late February to early March. I am still planning my trip to Oaxaca so my arrival at your farm is quite flexible at this point; however, I do arrive in Oaxaca City on January 19. I hope to explore a bit of northern Oaxaca before heading to the coast but am willing to work with your schedule.
My trip to Southern Mexico is an attempt to explore and enjoy the beauty and diversity of the area and I believe WWOOFing presents a unique opportunity to do so! I am a lifelong gardener with lots of farming experience as well. I will be starting a 6-month apprenticeship program in sustainable agriculture in Santa Cruz, California after I return from my trip. I hope to integrate my experience WWOOFing in Mexico with my future as a farmer here in California.
Your farm sounds absolutely amazing and quite beautiful. I have significant experience growing edible plants, from gardening in my backyard to large-scale farming (see below). I do both worm and home composting on a regular basis for my own garden and would love to learn about bocashi composting. Coffee and bananas are crops that I do not have experience with as I have never grown food in the tropics so I am extremely interested in helping with your rehabilitation of these crops on your farm! I can also help with any other necessary tasks on the farm and love to cook. Learning to cook regional food some downright incredible and mouth-watering.
Although this will be my first time WWOOFing, I have an extensive background in farming and gardening. I have been gardening all my life, as my parents brought me up to grow our own food and enjoy the beauty of nature. I graduated in 2009 with honors from UC Berkeley with a double major in Genetics & Plant Biology and Agroecology & Land Use Policy. A large part of my education was understanding and putting to use organic gardening techniques as well as studying the political economy of sustainable agriculture. Since then I have spent a year apprenticing at a sustainable, family-owned and -operated farm in southwestern France. I also volunteered over 100 hours with City Slicker Farms in West Oakland, an inner-city, organic gardening non-profit helping to encourage the disadvantaged residents of the neighborhood to have access to fresh, sustainably grown produce and empower them to determine their own food sovereignty. Finally, I have worked in the produce department of Whole Foods, learning from inside this profit-driven company how they source and treat their organic growers. This entire time, I have built and maintained a large garden and orchard at my parent's house in Redwood City, using sustainable agriculture techniques.
I am a very positive and hard-working individual who knows the rigors and demands of farm life first-hand. I also recognize the variety of tasks required at a farm and am certainly enthusiastic to help you with ANY AND ALL tasks! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Me gustaria quedarme un mes de principios de Enero a principios de Febrero del 2015.
Tengo experiencia en una finca en extremadura España donde trabaje 2 meses.
En esos dos meses nunca sentí tanta paz como la que te da trabajar con el cuerpo arrancando malas hiervas recolectando frutas y vegetales, liberando arboles de maleza..
Ahorita trabajo delante de un ordenador haciendo animación para películas y comerciales. Y la verdad que se desde hace tiempo se que mi lugar es vivir en la naturaleza y llegar a ser lo mas autosuficientes posible del sistema.
He vivido en 8 paises, hablo ingles y español bilingüe. Tengo valores muy fuertes enfocados al respeto honestidad. Soy muy espiritual sabiendo que nuestro dios visible sin duda es la madre tierra.

I am currently travelling through Mexico as part of my year long sabbatical from my engineering company, where I work as a Civil and Environmental Engineer and specialise in water engineering. Your coffee farm sounds very interesting and I am really keen to learn more about the role that it plays in forest conservation, as well as learning more about composting techniques.
At the moment I am in Mazunte and will be leaving for Puerto Escondido in 2 days time to continue my travels through WWOOFing. I have no time limit for how long that can be and, if you need a volunteer, I can work with you for anything from a week to a month.
