Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I have been a part of various sustainable building workshops and work-parties, specializing in Cob, waddle and daub, and natural plasters, in Canada. I worked the last Spring with a house-finishing company that specialize in natural wood treatments/restorations (which means, on the west coast of BC, working in wind, rain or intense heat). After high school I worked 3 years on an independant farm and boarding estate. My duties included: weeding the organic garden, feeding cows and the free-range hens, mucking stalls and working with horses. Those years taught me a lot about farm life and began my interest in organic local-production and permaculture. In the summers in between semesters of Art school, I worked for a friend's organic landscaping company (specializing in natural weed and pest control). At a cob building workshop, I attended a grafting and permaculture seminar, and am interested in expanding on this knowledge through experience.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I have always been interested in eco village/farm living, sustainable building and being a part of a beautiful network of community. I have a degree in Art and World Textiles and have experience with sustainable architecture, as well as conventional building. I am a hard worker, a team worker and dedicated to learning through life's experiences. I believe that through independant farming and localization of produce, we maintain a sense in self-sustainability and community as well as reduce the strain on our Earth.
