What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I have spent the past 18 months growing food and practising sustainable horticulture across 7 acres of productive gardens at Schumacher College in South Devon. I completed a Practical Residency in Sustainable Horticulture at the college and attained my Permaculture Design Certificate here too, before then taking on the role of Horticultural Intern. My role involved growing food for the college community, looking after chickens and ducks, working in herb gardens, fruit areas, forest gardens and ornamental areas, working with volunteers and supporting new students in their learning. Prior to this I set up, managed and delivered a therapeutic animal-assisted programme at a city farm in London for 5 years, working with small farm animals and running sessions for the local community. What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I'll be in Mexico from early December 2018 to end April 2019. I am half-Mexican and it's been a decade since I was last in Mexico, so I'm pleased to be returning at last! I'm a grower, a signmaker, a visual artist, an animal lover and a qualified EFL teacher, with a strong desire to do hands-on work and keep learning. I'm excited to develop more practical skills, including crafts and natural building. I've been living in community for the past year so am eager to visit more alternative living set-ups.
