Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
In 2011 I wwoofed for about two months on two different farms in California. I spent my days usually feeding and walking the animals (ducks, geese and chickens), watering trees and vegetables, planting trees, installing a chain link fence around the property, repairing irrigation, bottling olive oil among many other things. Also in a previous conservation job I had I needed to plant/maintain trees and did various projects with restoring wetland vegetation. I’ve also grown up in the woods and have always had a fairly large garden in my backyard so I’ve done some minor work maintaining the garden with my father.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
They should know that I’m really easy going and really excited to learn new things while volunteering on the farm. Wwoofing in the past was one the greatest experiences of my life and I look forward to doing it again this year. I love the outdoors and working with my hands so I’ll always be excited to go work and do something different. I am also currently studying Spanish at Cemanahuac in Cuernavaca, Mexico so I hope to improve my Spanish as well on these farms by talking and meeting different people. And since I’ve only spent my time here in Cuernavaca I’m hoping wwoofing will be a way for me to see other parts of the country and get a better chance to understand the culture of Mexico.
