6,825 hectares. Conservation, Organic gardens and orchards We are an environmentaleducation school that focuses on conservation, education and scientific research. We are located in a wilderness campus and host high school and college courses from various educational institutions. The school is remote, rustic and beautiful and contains hundreds of learning opportunities for interns. We expect to host permaculture, green building workshops this year. We have adobe houses and facilities on solar, our water comes from springs we tapped ourselves, we use composting toilets. Last summer we established some small organic permaculture gardens, we want to expand these in order to produce more of our food.
Our ranch is ecologically diverse and has a small buffalo herd, believe it or not buffalo were indigenous to this area. Various scientific projects have occurred here including a native fish study and macroinvertebrate study. I believe the school has great potential to host some hardworking interns interested in sustainability, ecology, conservation and of course organic farming and fun. We have great rock climbing from 5.7 to 5.12 and bouldering, hiking, mountain biking, 35 miles of the Tutuaca River run through the ranch, kayaking and swimming for days and afternoons off. We expect our interns to work 5 ½ days a week with 5 hour work days.
Lodging: We have a bunk house for interns, two main rooms including a kitchen and a loft.
Meals: we provide simple food. We cannot cater to vegans but can feed vegetarians.
