What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I have previously worked on two organic urban farms in the Washington DC metropolitan area, with one emphasizing various types of compost including vermicompost. I participated in a social justice-oriented trip to the US Midwest to explore the entire spectrum of our current food system. I am originally from a deeply agrarian part of southern Georgia and received a dual-seal in agriculture in high school.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I love manual labor, and I love the potential of agriculture to heal the wounds of this planet. I want to eventually become fluent in Spanish to assist the farmworkers of America in their seemingly never-ending struggle for justice and dignity in the fields. I believe farming can be a form of direct action (not all types of course). I love being outside, I love animals, and I am excited to be a part of WWOOFing revolution.
