Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
We've worked some months ago in an organic Coffee plantation in the Colombia's 'Eje Cafetero'. More recently, in a Cacao and Plantain organic plantation, doing both agricultural tasks and infrastructure improvements. Besides these experiences, we studied and experimented on our own with trees and vegetables (germination, seed collecting, composting, transplant). Also, participated on a NGO working on reforestation of argentinan native trees and caring for their tree nursery. As well, we took a short intensive course on Natural Agriculture and Forestation. Besides the listed, we do have a great interest in other subjects such as animals, fruit trees, medicinal plants, mushrooms among some.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
We are a relaxed and down to earth couple that enjoy the simple life with it's simple details. We have been travelling since December 2016, enjoying new experiences, trying to get out of the touristic route and living this journey more like a lifestyle rather than a holiday (with the good and the bad that this brings). We chose to get into WWOOF because we think it gives more meaning and content to a volunteership, as we believe in people's right to food freedom/sovereignity. Also, we found in volunteering a way of getting to know a place, its people and its environment more deeply. Choosing only the projects that connect the most with our interests, we think we can have a good experience.
