What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I have worked on numerous farms throughout the states, both urban and rural, vegetable an animal. At some of those farms (3) I was a WWOOFER.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am an extremely hard worker, dedicated to any project I am working on. I love the rhythm of farm life and doing manual labor. I am easygoing and have a great sense of humor so I am a fun presence to have on the farm. I am a recent college graduate and while there I studied food policy and sustainability. I wrote my senior thesis on the social and ecological effects of neoliberal changes in agricultural policy in Mexico, with a social focus on how these changes impacted campesino communities and migration, and an ecological focus on the consequences of export focused agriculture (so I have a deep understanding of the politics of Mexican agriculture and am eager to learn more and get my hands dirty helping with the actual farming). I get along with people easily and am a great communicator and listener. I follow directions well. I speak intermediate Spanish, but will be traveling for a month in Mexico before finding a farm so my Spanish will have improved tremendously.
