As yet (Sep 2014) I don't have any WWOOFing experience - only that some friends of mine when living in Armidale, NSW were hosts.
I do not have much experience with farming, permaculture or building, but I would like to think that what I lack in experience I make up for in eagerness, to help, and to learn. I used to work as a surveyor, but now work as a brewer - I enjoy the balance of physical work and thinking more technically, chemically. I made several items, mostly furniture, out of wood when at high school. It's been over ten years since I have done that work with wood, though!
I love the outdoors, the natural world we live in is something to treasure and respect. It is this principle that excites me about WWOOFing - I would greatly like to learn about ways we can grow things on a small scale, live in as self-sustainable way as possible, live in harmony with each other and our surroundings. My fiancee and I would like to settle in the Blue Mountains, inland from Sydney, one day, and we would love to grow many things, recycle water and waste where possible, use as little energy as we can.
As well as a love of good (craft/artesenal) beer, I love food in its many forms. I am a climber, mostly on rock but I also dabble in some mountaineering. As I mentioned above, I love being outdoors, whether climbing or just hiking around.
Currently we are travelling the world on a 'round the world' ticket. Recently we have been learning as much spanish as we can in Colombia - travelling is all about meeting people, it is the best way of experiencing another country. I like to think that through WWOOFing we meet some great locals (you!) and learn lots about your culture, and food especially!
