Hello Ayaka, Yes, we take volunteers then and will be happy to host you. Did you make the drawing of yourself here with green hair? It's fun. I'm sure you will like it here. kippy
Hello, Ayaka!
We request a minimum stay of 2 weeks, so that the wwoofers can learn different tasks and have a full experience.
You should bring a light rain jacket and maybe an umbrella and some shoes that keep your feet dry in the garden and puddles. It is raining here every afternoon, about 5:00 p.m., so we are usually inside, but please come prepared, so you don't get wet.
We have blankets in the wwoofer dormitory. Showers are with cold water. At present, we have one wwofer staying in the dorm, a woman from Melbourne, Australia, who is fluent in English and Spanish, a very nice person! Another woman is arriving in late September. There is room for you all.
We give wwoofers a light, quick breakfast of fruit and oatmeal in LCP at 7:45. At the garden at 11;00 a.m., Salvador and Estevan, our Mayan gardeners, prepare a brunch together with the volunteers on the open fire, using the fresh vegetables and tortillas.
There is pure bottled water at the garden for drinking.
Salvador and Estevan speak Spanish and Mayan only, but they are used to communicating with wwoofers of limited language skills. At La Casa del Pan, we have a woman working at the juice/coffee bar who speaks English and Spanish. Also, we have a half-Japanese friend, Laura Saldivar Tanaka, who works right next to the juice bar, in her organic products shop. She speaks Japanese, English and Spanish perfectly and knows all the Japanese community in San Cristobal.
i will take you to the garden on your first day (i live up on the mountain, so i cannot do that every day). And i will show you how to take the combi to the garden. The fare is 4 pesos each way, which is your only expense.
The work is from 8:30 to 2:30 Monday to Friday and from 8:30 to 1:00 on Saturday.
When you return from the garden, after bathing, you can help yourself to our ample organic buffet, made from the harvest of our own vegetables and those of our neighbors: 8 different salads, soup of the day, fresh bread, fresh fruit drink, and pie or cake or fruit for dessert.
Supper is soup and bread at 8 p.m.
The restaurant closes at 10:00 p.m. and the staff leaves around 10:30 or 11:00. You will be given a key for your use while you are with us.
We give a 10% discount on bread and Casa del Pan homemade products in our shop to wwoofers.
i hope this answers your questions. i look forward to meeting you! kippy
PS There is another Japanese wwoofer arriving in early or mid- September.

Hello Ayaka,
How are you doing? What are your plans? At the moment, we have two volunteers from the US. One is a student from University of California. She is not staying in the WWOOFer rooms behind the Casa del Pan. The other is a woman from Iowa, who will be in one of the wwoofer rooms when you arrive. Do you have a date yet? i ask, because i will be away for a few days. i hope you are well. kippy
We are starting a new project, moving our farm from Guadalajara, Mexico to a small town by the mountains. We invite you to participate with us, if you are interested please contact us thru Wwoof at Fundacion por el Planeta farm.
Thank you very much,
Greetings
