Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I am currently working on a goat ranch in Baja California Sur and traveling throughout Mexico learning about the land and it's people. I've also worked as an intern on Grant Family Farms in Wellington, CO (www.grantfarms.com). I have experience in milking and feeding goats, hearding cattle and goats and cleaning goat pins. Most recently, I have planted and harvested garlic, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, cucumbers, beets, onions, apples, plums, melons, rhubarb, lettuce and kale. I have trellaced and suckered (pruned) tomato plants. For fun and experience I have built a stone cobb stair case, patio and walkway. I'm also helping a friend build a cobb oven and bench. I have knowlege in alternative means of watering techniques. I started WWOOFing in April of 2011 on multiple farms and ranches throughout the southern United States.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am very passionate about learning about agriculture and sustainable living. I would like to use my time in Mexico to learn more about the land and culture to later buy a plot to raise animals and grow vegetables using permaculture methods. I would like to start WWOOFIng in Mexico starting January 2013 and work my way down the Pacific Coast until May. I speak Spanish well but eager to be fluent. Write me a message if you have any questions or if my plans work with your schedule..

Hey Ken, Good to hear from you.  We are pleased and excited to have your assistance at Whitt's End Rancho.  January through May is our busy season and can use all the goat assistance we can muster.  It also happens to be the nicest time of year in Los Cabos.   Please let me hear back from you.

Hasta pronto,

Lisa Whitt

We would love to have the help and should have a few others here as well.   We are and will be building our infrastructure well into 2013.  We don't have much in the way of vegetable gardens, as we trade our goat dairy for all our needs with the local organic farmers as well as other artisans.

Hey Ken, I am checking in with you about your wwoof time here at Whitt's End. We are excited to have you come help. I have you penciled in for the month of January 2013. I am really going to need help as we should be swimming in baby kid goats and their mamas delicious goats milk. We also have interest in your cobb skill sets. A pizza/bread oven would be a great benefit to the ranch There are always infrastructure projects happening here at Whitt's End. Please get back to me at your earliest convenience so I may complete my WWOOF January calendar schedule.
Hugs, Lisa

to reach igloo first you have to get to the city of Guadalajara and then take a bus line "Sur de Jalisco" to Mismaloya where you get off and call me.
