FARM IN GUANAJUATO

Autopista Querétaro-Celaya km. 19.5, Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, México.

Our farm is 30 hectares, we have a hotel area, with great installations for volunteers and events we have here all time, he have workshops, agroecology conferences,  meditation and yoga meetings, etc.

The kibbutz is designed to be community for people who wants to live in the fields, work in the land and be closer with the nature, and to share with people coming of different cultures and countries. By now we are a community of 10 people 4 of them are from Uruguay, 1 from New York City and the rest from different states of Mexico. 

In the farm we are in a transition period because we are starting a training center of agroecology education about sustainable vegetable gardens, seeds production, chicken and eggs organic production, organic fruits production and we are organizing a farmers market in the closest city called Querétaro.

The other part of the farm we are planning that could be organic in 2 or 3 years. Our objective is to make our farm sustainable about the food we consume inside the farm, then to sell the rest in the farmers market. All this work we are doing is for making it real in this year so we need some strong hands to help with this.

Work required from WWOOFers:

In the vegetable garden we need all time to sow, transplant, move soil, plowing, weeding, harvesting, make compost and vermicompost, sell vegetables.
In the chickens system we are working on the construction of new hen's house, cleaning, feed them, harvesting eggs, cut meat, etc.
In the fruit production system WWOOFers could prune trees, put compost, remove the soil, cure the trees.
The farmers market will be in the weekends so WWOOFers can help there too if they want.

Description of accommodation and meals provided: The rooms for WWOOFers are very nice, we will offer a particular room with a bathroom, they have a closet, and a desk.

We have a common room to share with people a movie, talks and books.
We have laundry room (no cost)
We are 15 minutes far from Querétaro city and 40 minutes far from Celaya city.
The community have all meals together.
We can give vegetarian meals

We would like that a WWOOFer stays at minimum 1 month with us.
The WWOOFer will be in one week probation period and if he/she likes the community and us the WWOOFer can stay the time he/she wants to.
We will like that WWOOFer can bring his/she own insurance 
No drugs allowed
The WWOOFer should follow the schedule of the community´s life about meals and work time.

The activities schedule is:

Monday to Friday
8.00 meditation
8.30 breakfast
9.00 work
2.00 lunch
4.00 work
6.00 free time

Saturday

We work at the morning.
At 4.00 the wwoofer will have free time.
Un sunday the wwoofer will have to be back at 10.00pm

We have an education center in the rural community that is in front our farm, if WWOOFers want to involve in those education activities is a option too.
