Farm in Juquila, Oaxaca

Rancho el Sagrado its an ecotouristic project where the guests can feel and enjoy the nature, they can also see the process to get our delicious coffee, walk in the mountain and next to the river, our goal is to become a self-sustain farm protecting and respecting the nature. We have about 6 ha of organic coffeeplantation and more than 100 ha of rainforest close to a nice river, 8 cabins, a Restaurant, a playing area, a rustic kitchen, a chicken house, a Temazcal, we use the solar energy to creat our electricity and we are in the process of growing our own food with a little orchard, we have some bananatrees, chayote, mangos, maracuya, cacao, oranges and some other things, but to make this more productive, we need people with experience in permaculture to help us. 

We offer:
The WOOFriends can stay in the cabain number 1 with 8 individual beds and more space for sleeping bags or we have some camping beds called here "catres", the cabain has bathroom and some times warm water, with solar energy.
The food in the ranch normally is really delicious, we are simple and normally we have beans, rice, pasta, vegtables, local cheese, fruits, soya, tortillas, fish, and love, the combination of this ingredients creats delicius meals. Its always cool when everybody helps a little bit in the kitchen.
We are open to give and receive knowledge.


Activities:
Two weeks ago the hurricane "Carlotta"  destroyed alot of nature, so our coffee plantations needs to be recovered, and now we have to get the wood from this beautiful trees that before we were protecting, so in this moment the most urgent activities are to recover our forest and plant. At some point we will open again the place to the tourists, and then we will have other activities to do like: maintenance, service, construction. 

Some of our projects in mind are:
-Down Hill Track, this is for mountain bike and for dirtsurfing.
-Hiking, with explanation of the plants and animals.
-Coffee museum.
-Insectary.
-Zip "tirolesa".
-Climbing walls.

Help to make this projects real is also welcome.

Times:
For aplying we need to recive and send some e-mails before to explain the activity and to organize the stay, we consider that 2 weeks is the minimun time to do something significant but if somebody can do something faster, then we can talk about it. 

The area:
The closest town "San Gabriel" is 4 km. away. There are mototaxis that can take you from the town to the ranch. Now one consequence of the hurricane is that the road is cut by the river in the last 400 mts. so it's not possible anymore to get inside the ranch with car, hopefully we can fix this soon. And 45 km. away are the beautiful beaches of Puerto Escondido.
