FARM IN LA PAZ, BAJA CALIFORNIA

MONTE CABRA (Rancho Cabron) is a brand new project looking to nature as a principle goal and cheese making.
We are aiming to totally sustainable resources trying to involve the local community and eventually become a model and school of natural and sustainable practices.
We recycle everything, we try to leave no trace into nature.
Our place is in the dry landscape of Baja California Sur, we have 24 Hectares of land with plenty water, just 21Kms from La Paz, with an spectacular view of the Sea of Cortez just 1 kms. from the property.
Rancho Cabron is dedicated to goat cheese with a total of 60 goats, 1 horse, like 10 chickens, 4 turkeys, and 4 lovely dogs. Our goats are mostly female goats producing milk...
the aim and goal is to combine natural resources to become totally sustainable and out of any grid.
We live with solar energy, we heat our water with the sun, eventually our source of gas will be a Bio Bolsa (gas energy produced by the waste of our animals).
At the moment we are working with the Mexican government to provide us with the enough technology for green hydroponic plantation as a complement of our goats diet.
We believe we have a lot of land and a lot to do, like planting corn, alfalfa...
We have lot of space for camping, but we also have a small house with all facilities, outdoor and inside kitchen, firewood oven, hot shower and a lot of peace...
If certified, we have all the dive equipment, including spear gun for you to fish.
If hiking is your thing we have all the mountain for you including a rifle for a rabbit hunt.
As the owner, I love good meals, therefore hunger will never be. Specially if you can assist in the kitchen process and surprise us with your own recettes.
Bread making is a passion, but due to so many animals, time is an issue, perhaps with your help real bread will re-born.
You are expected to participate mostly in the goat feeding and milking, but any other hand is thanked as plating and watering all the already plants.
Work hours are the morning, probably from 8:30 to 10:30 and the afternoon from 17:30 to 18:30. Mornings are longer due to milking process.
Cheese making is an option and if interested in learning the process, you are most welcome.
We need Woofer's at any time and are welcome to stay at their pace and schedule, but at least for a period of two weeks or a month, if you like it, time is no limit.
At the ranch we speak: Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Japanese.
