Farm in San Cristobal, Chiapas

Rancho Esquipulas is located on the outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas at 2,100 meters above sea level. We grow a variety of vegetables using agroecological techniques and save seeds for trading with local farmers. WWOOFers learn these techniques by actively working with our team, doing various chores related to the year-round cycle of preparing the soil for planting, maintaining fertility and structure of the soil, making compost, managing worms, weeding, watering, harvesting, seed-saving, etc. They should be able to speak Spanish and work harmoniously with others as a team. We provide lodging and meals at La Casa del Pan in town and request a minimum stay of two weeks. Longer stays are possible and even desirable, if both parties are satisfied
