Organic Farm Visual Manager

Here is a screenshot of a customized software product we developed for the farm I work at. It is designed to collect and manage information that accumulates on a daily basis. It uses a custom designed XML database. The visual farm map can display all historic planting actions for each bed and serves as a very powerful visual aid when planning the next season's crops.

Mud House

Here is an unusual photo of the mud house that was constructed on the farm. It took about 6 months to complete.

Music Studio Build

Here is an interesting slideshow. It documents the construction of a uniquely shaped music studio in Brooklyn NY. The studio was designed using Microstation CAD software. The construction took 3 weeks.

Hi Benzi, I read your profile and it sounds like you would be a great benefit to Whitt's End Rancho (and goat spa).  When in March do you anticipate to arrive in Baja Sur and for how long?  As you read in our farm description, we request a minimum of 1 month due to all the training and time the animals need to adjust to a new human in their lives.  This is a very special place.   We welcome good souls of the earth in hope growing and learning from one and other.  I hope to hear from you again soon,

Lisa

Hello Benzi!

Sounds like you have a lot of skills. I think It would be great to have your  help.

A few things have changed since I wrote our ranch profile. And the biggest thing is that we are not living up there full time anymore although we hope to again.

Right now we are living in our house that is in town we have gardens here also and are putting a new roof on the front to make a live food restaurant and store.

My husband and kids ride up to the farm on horses everyday (about 20 min) and care for the animals and bring food and supply's to the woofers that are staying on the land in a small adobe block house that we made.

So I offer staying at the farm or our house or a combination ..no lack of projects at either!

How long are you thinking of staying? Do you ride and handle hoses? Are you in to rustic living ..because the farm is really a bathe in the river build a fire to make your breakfast kinda place.

Let me know.

Light.

Hi Benzi,

This is a bit of a crazy time in the town where we live it is the one big festival of the year in Xico an lasts for most of the month of July. So even coming in and out of the town after like the 15 is a bit hard. In my house I cant say its super private its not huge I have a small room for visitors. An quite a bit of indoor work with making the restaurant in the front room.

At the farm there is a solar panel set up but we are working on fixing the inverter...so its close. Right now there is one guy from Spain and one from Canada woofing and a couple is on the way and a guy biking from the us to arrive soon also a girl from Ireland! one small adobe block house with a wood stove.  Its raining big time here  a little early for so much rain but that is how it is. the mornings are usually clear till may be 2 and the rain rain rain...may be  I will end up with every one in my house hu? Well your welcome to come and check it out and if you like it warmer and dryer then I will send you on to the permaculture ranch of my father in law in Acayucan.

bring rain gear!

light,
