Profile Information

What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
In northern California I had a small homestead on half an acre awith goats, rabbits, poultry and large garden and was about 80% self sufficient on that half acre for a family of five people. Then I had an organic wholesale bedding pant nursery and a five acre organic farm where I produced veggies and cut flowers for the farmer's markets in the area and did five markets a week at one point. I farmed in Californias for over 15 years and then sold the nursery and moved to Bellingham, Washington where I farmed a couple of acres and did the farmer's market there for a couple of years before I moved to Mexico. I have lived here for over 10 years and have developed a small eco-lodge, La Rosa de Las Barras I have now also gone back to farming and am developing 2 hectares and selling organic produce at the new Organic Farmer's Market in Mazatlan, as well as using it for the guests of La Rosa.

We are a married couple who are seeking work study/internship on a farm in Mexico. Kevin is 44 and has extensive experience in the auto damage industry. He is very handy and can repair/improve most anything, from cars and motorcyles to home repair/landscaping and beyond. Jasmine is 35 and has been a yoga teacher for 10 years. We are both physically fit and are willing and able to work hard and learn quickly. We have a rescue dog named Gracie who is our only 'child'. Learning how to grow food and live sustainably is our goal. We are currently working and living on an organic farm in Arizona through September, are learning a lot here, and would like to head to Mexico in October. Please let us know if working on your farm is a possibility, and if so would it be possible for a married couple to have more private accomodations. Gracias!

Sincerely, Kevin & Jasmine Bowman

Hi Gail, I am looking to wwoof starting sometime in November. It would be my first experience.  I have very little experience, but have been working as a cook/ chef for more than 10 years. I am looking to work and learn about farming, cultivation, sustainablilty, and what I can do to contribute to the environment and educate others.  Let me know if you have any availabilities.

Thank you, Kate

Hello,

My name is Vincent. I have graduated in a Management high school in France and in december I will be 25 years old. My studies are over and I want to see new countries, meet new people, and experience new things. I don’t have special skills in this industry, but I’m ready to learn. I would love to work and help out a farm, at the same time getting some direct insight of how to take care for the earth. I am athletic. I work hard and I keep an open mind. I can speak english. I had just a little bit spanish courses in school but would really love to learn more and i’m working on it. I'm really motivated.

I'm looking for a farm for 30 days between - April 10th and May 10th

If I were to help at your farm what would I need to bring and what would I be asked to do exactly?

I look forward to hearing from you,

Vincent Foulquier

Hello,

I'm currently wwoofing on a goat dairy ranch in southern Baja,  my plan of staying one month quickly turned into two when I realised how much I loved it.  I hope to leave here on the 5/6th of December and go on to another farm and your's sounds just perfect.  Do you have any space then?

I have lots of experience working the farmers markets here, animal husbandry, milking and making cheese, but still have more to learn.  From your farm I am looking to learn about growing and selling all sorts of fruit and veggies.  What projects will you be working on through December?

Really looking forward to hearing from you!

Flo

Hi Gail,

I have decided to wait and would love to work on your farm in the coming year. Can u let me know when would be the best time, busiest and most opportune time to do lots of work and learn a variety of skills. I will be a Avila me any time after march.

I have been studying up on organic farming, sustainable building and permaculture and will continue, but have no hands on experience. I am Willing and wanting to learn. I am dedicating my life to these sustainable practices to eventually buy land, build and farm and one day host wwoofers. I am at the beginning of my journey and am looking for local opportunities here in Santa Cruz, CA.

Thank you for providing me this opportunity and I look forward to contributing to your farm and to the mo ement as a whole.

Blessings,
-Jose

Hi Gail,

Your farm sounds really interesting - it would be great to be part of the full process! Preparation and planting all the way to taking produce to the market - what a great way to gain experience!

My boyfriend and I will be traveling from December - February or March.  Please let us know if you would like any help in that time.  We do have experience with gardening - I have worked in a greenhouse and on an organic farm in the past.  I grew up on a dairy farm and am really familiar working with animals (do you have any?).

We would like to talk about how we can have a mutually beneficial experience!

Thanks!
