Hi Kate,
Sure, come love to have you come to La Rosa. I have a few other people coming in November, so I will just have to figure out where everyone will sleep. But, I will tell you honestly, I probably could really use you more in the restaurant, with your experience, than on the farm!

I do ask people for a minimum of a month commitment, and I will pay your room and board when you get here. Check out the web page at: www.larosadelasbarras.com and La Rosa de Las Barras has a Facebook page too.

Write to me at larosadelasbarras@gmail.com and let me know more about your plans, ok?

Hey Kate,  I have looked at our schedule & may have room for one more person in November and December.  I am looking for hardworking, fun loving people who can work as part of a team but can also work independently and enjoy the farmstead lifestyle.  There will be 3 or 4 farmer's markets to prepare for each week that begin with the goats and end in the cheese kitchen.  Our booths at the farmer's markets  need to be staffed each week.  There is the household that needs to be run consisting of cooking, cleaning and scheduling.  Everyone is up and getting a little early self serve breakfast.  Work begins around 7AM till 11ish.  We break for lunch then work on projects from 12 until 2pm.  The next few hours are free and have another meal around 4PM.  The evening milking runs from about 5 to 7pm depending on how many goats need to be milked at night.  We make snacks at night.  We try to have a beach day for everyone each week & movie night when anyone has the energy. We strive to keep it fun. We should have more babies being born in November and December.  They are a gift to watch and bottle feed.  It is super important that you understand just how remote the ranch location is.  We are only 30 miles to San Jose, but the road is dirt and bumpy and currently takes about 1 1/2 hours to travel.  This is because of the amount of rain we received over the past 2 months.  We have high hope the roads will be graded before the end of the month, but no assurances by any means.  There is nowhere to spend money within 15 miles in any direction.  The ranch is located on a hillside slope that over looks the Sea of Cortez, about 2 miles away.  The weather should be Baja perfect by November.  We are still in the 90s and humid currently.  I expect this will be in the 80s during November and 70s December through April.  The night sky is amazing and full of stars.  We can hear the shore break & from the roof top, November through March whales can be seen jumping and breaching out of the water.  If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, have a look at our facebook page, Whitt's End Rancho.  I haven't posted much over the long hot summer but some of our past and present wwoofers have.  There will be a lot of hands on leaning the entire time you are at your Whitt's End (=.  I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Warm regards, Lisa Whitt

Hi Kate,

YES! you are more than welcome to our ranch. Let us know when you are planning to arrive to Xalapa, so that we can arrange everything to take you to the ranch. it is 2 hrs away from Xalapa, close to the beach, with a big house, but we don't live there yet. But the person who is in charge of the ranch, León, is always more than willing to share all his knowledge and experience. So you won't be working by your self. And there is a coulple that is also interested on visiting by this date.

We make our visit to the ranch on Saturdays.

So let us know,

Greetings,

Rogelio
