What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I am currently on a semester abroad in Mexico however I study International Development with an area of emphasis in Rural and Agricultural Development at my University in Guelph, Ontario. I have taken crop science, soil science and environmental stewardship and agricultural economic courses. Thoughout my time I have done reserach projects on organic agriculture in Bolivia and sustainable development in rural communities with an anthropological, economic, political and ecological perspective.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
I am a passionate, energetic person with a desire to learn through experience. I have been studying agricultural development for 3 years in a classroom and now want to experience living and getting hands on experience in my field. I am a hardworker with an appetite to learn about sustainable development, organics, crop rotations and to see how an ecosystem is utilized and survives in an organic environment. I have been living in Mexico for the past 3 and a half months taking spanish, culture and history classes which has given me a good background to the culture in Mexico and now I am ready to get my hands dirty. My spanish is at a basic conversation level and I am looking to immerse myself in a completley spanish environment to improve as much as I can before heading back to Canada. I am also very interesting in human rights and environmental issues.

The hotel is located in holbox a small island in the caribbean very much preserved and where we want guest to discover the beauty of harvesting their own food.
