Hola!
Thank you for visiting my profile.
From top to bottom you will learn all the projects I have worked with, but at the present time am in the regions of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, trying to meet a self-imposed deadline to complete Volume I of my friends memoir.
My friend is a four-legged Mexican who am helping write a dual language book for children called "Donde esta Kudra?/ Where is Kudra?"
To give you a little insight of our voyages, I was ecology promoter and leasing agent at Zihuatanejo Beach Retreat, a former Nature Study Center owned and directed by Senor Owen Lee, a spokesperson for Jacques Cousteau on the famous "Calypso".
Kudra and I lived in a lovely rustic bungalow with a palapa roof, on a beach with no streets or cars or sidewalks, nor wifi...
Owen is the author of a book "Prisoner in Paradise" his story about his love affair with the land.
He had a stroke in 2013 and his guardian had different plans for the property, so we had to move on.
We lived in San Miguel de Allende for almost five seasons, where I worked at a bookshop for a time, with Kudra at my side.
I assisted Grupo Ecologico de la Costa Verde in Nayarit. It is the Olive Ridley conservation project in San Francisco NAY.
From picking freshly laid eggs from nests dug 2 feet deep in the sand, to releasing the last set of hatchlings.
(Kudra was not born yet then, but I heard dogs like baby turtles as snacks so it worked out well for us all)
Unlike farm or ranch detail, turtles are nocturnal creatures, so tending to them and daily tasks in the community were a challenge in the start, but thankfully like all harvests, subside.
When I was not busy with turtles, I assisted at EntreAmigos, a community center in San Pancho. I became a teacher, library assistant, a clerk at their thrift shop...
I also woofed in Hawaii, assisting landowners with basic upkeep on various properties in the Puna District of the Big Island. I lived on many off the grid properties, improving their sustainability. from water catchment systems to solar panel installation, and eco-friendly toilet systems.
Kudra and I would be happy to devote our time wiht your project!
Since travels for her and I are a little strenuous (we usually do this on a bus, never a plane), we prefer a longer term commitment.
And please ascertain that wifi is available, as it is my only form of making a living...
With utmost respect,
Elvira and Kudra
